Palm POS Status- In October 2007 Pinnacle Palm POS v9.2 was first audited by Coalfire Systems, a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) recognized by Visa and the PCI Security Standards Council. Palm POS passed the required PABP assessment and Pinnacle was included on SSC’s list of approved payment applications. Since then PABP has evolved into the PA-DSS requirements and Palm has maintained its status as an approved payment application.

As a retailer you have many systems and processes in your organization to assess and secure in order to comply with the PCI requirements for merchants. With Palm v9.2 or higher you will have one less thing to worry about. Depending on what merchant Tier you fall into (ask your bank if you don’t know what Tier you are) you may have to be audited by a QSA or you may need to do periodic self-assessments to determine your PCI readiness. The SSC and the card brands that comprise it (Visa, MC, Amex, Discover and JCB) each have their own security program guidelines. You should refer to those entities for merchant requirements that may apply to you.Palm Implementation Guidance- Palm POS is very configurable and can be implemented in many ways. When audited, it was configured in a secure manner to meet PCI security requirements.
