Pinnacle Launches Expanded E-Learning Center

Arlington, Texas – The Pinnacle Corporation (Pinnacle) announces the expansion of the Pinnacle Learning Center (PLC), an education portal for Pinnacle clients. This portal, located at http://elearning.pinncorp.com, replaced the existing Client Services product area of Pinncorp.com, and now includes an additional array of user features and benefits.

The enhanced Pinnacle Learning Center provides access to resources such as online help and Palm, Credit Network, and Loyalty documentation, along with software downloads. Access all the most current information and resources to ensure you are taking full advantage of all the features of your Pinnacle products and solutions.

In addition to our educational portal, we also offer our clients a comprehensive training opportunity at our facilities in Arlington, which prepares clients for a given product in a conference room setting. Through experience, we find the Arlington-based classes to be the most effective for assimilating clients into their desired products. Clients have the opportunity to meet client support personnel among other Pinnacle employees, helping to cement beneficial working relationships.

According to Jim Walther, Manager, Training and Documentation, the Pinnacle Learning Center site allows clients to access documentation and software more easily. Additionally, “our new enhancements allow clients to enroll in training classes on their own. They can also see past classes and exercises and even print or reprint certificates of completion.”

One of the most significant attributes that sets Pinnacle apart from the rest is our relationship with our clients. Our mutual collaboration doesn’t end when our software is installed, it is just beginning. We want our customers to be the most successful they can be and that means support and communication – in short, a partnership.

Inside Perspective: A letter from Bob Johnson

Greetings!  2017 has arrived and with it, many exciting new challenges and opportunities for the convenience store industry. We witnessed the inauguration of a new President of the United States and a new administration that through regulation and legislation, will shape the nature of our business and how we operate. We have seen OPEC and other oil rich countries work to stem the sharp decline in oil prices by slowing production- which in turn stimulates our domestic oil production and renewed shale development. Labor issues and a push for more manufacturing stateside has ushered in a modern ‘Made In America’ rebirth.

We witnessed advances in technology and communication that change the way we interact with each other, retailers and the outside world. Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home have brought personal  AI into our homes as assistants, schedulers, encyclopedias and more. Uber, Lyft and other ride-sharing apps have not only made commuting cash-less and with the ease of a swipe of the finger; but have also incorporated food delivery, errand-running and now self-driving cars. Following the mobile trend, mobile apps and their integration into our daily lives continues to expand: direction app Waze can navigate through traffic snarls, streaming music apps like Spotify and Pandora have eliminated cd libraries while also using listener algorithms to determine which playlists you would prefer, Netflix and Amazon have gone beyond streaming video and original content to provide saved downloads and honed suggestions for niche audiences based on user behavior. Technology is relentlessly marching on! And Pinnacle must also.

At the start of 2017, we streamlined our product line through a partnership with PDI to allow us to focus all our energies on our Point of Sale, Loyalty and our new Affiniti Mobile solutions – ensuring we can bring you cutting edge technology and software that responds to these ever changing trends in the marketplace. We were the first to market with a complete EMV certification and we’re still out front, helping our clients meet their regulatory requirements. Our Palm POS still leads the pack for integrations to loyalty programs, payment processing and back-office solutions- while our own Loyalty suite gives our clients the flexibility and branding needed to drive traffic from competitors.  With the release of our Affiniti Mobile App platform, Pinnacle is providing retailers with an evolving platform to easily build out a branded consumer facing app- and related back office corporate app- we have kept our clients competitive and ready for the next stages in the evolution of convenience store marketing and loyalty.

We are continuously looking to new ways we can help our clients grow and profit.  Our commitment to our clients success has never been stronger than today. We have and will continue to meet with our client Advisory Council, attend industry events and trade shows, and participate in leadership organizations to refine our view of how best to serve our clients and be responsive to their needs. We hope to see you at an upcoming event but if you can’t wait until then to improve your business please give me a call!

All the Best,

Bob Johnson

DrewDear Readers,

With Labor Day behind us, so ends the Summer season and everyone is shaking off the last remaining remnants of Summer vacations.  For some, our kids are back in school; all of us return to more of a normal state and get ready for the Holiday season which will be here before we know it.

Less than one week away, comes Pinnacle Summit 2016; by far our biggest event of the year.  As in previous years our attendance will surpass the prior year, and we have a fantastic lineup in store for clients and partners alike.  Butch Egan from Western Oil will kick things off as our Summit master of ceremonies, followed immediately by our award winning opening keynote speaker Shep Hyken, New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling business author of hundreds of publications.  This year’s Summit includes an array of powerful client speakers, industry experts, 4 separate tracks of breakout sessions, and we will of course have a little fun after the long days of education, networking, and sharing with others.

For those of you already registered for Pinnacle Summit, see you in Frisco soon!  If you’re reading this newsletter and have not, however, there is still time and we would really like to see you there.

Safe travels,

Inside Drew’s Perspective: A Letter From The President

DrewDear Readers,

With August comes the tail third of the 2016 driving season and what a season it’s been for retailers, the lowest July gas prices in over a decade producing strong margins both outside and in.

As we approach September, our teams are diligently working on the finishing touches for Pinnacle Summit 2016.  This event gets bigger and better every year, and we have already exceeded last year’s registration numbers.  The agenda is full of great educational and best practice opportunities, and we have a strong lineup of general session content.  We look forward to hearing from our award winning keynote speaker, Shep Hyken, a New York Times Best Selling Author and speaker who has presented programs for Fortune 100 companies including American Airlines, Anheuser-Busch, American Express, and more.  What an event it will be, don’t miss out.

Look forward to seeing you next month in Frisco!  Have a great August.

Inside Drew’s Perspective: A Letter from the President

DrewDear Readers,

Summer in full swing brings driving season and the busiest time of year for your business.  The timing of positive retail fuel margin trends during the past 4 weeks is helpful to the bottom line, but those inside margins are equally as important during a time when family full vehicles are stocking up on snacks along their trips.  We turn our attention this month towards optimizing snacks, beverages and fuel inventories and margins.

Be on the lookout for our weekly blog.  Learn about ways to increase profits with mix n’ match programs and customer loyalty incentives, and optimize the snack category with item level inventory management and computer assisted ordering.  Discover new ways to improve labor efficiencies, while limiting shrink with real time inventory data.

Coming your way next month will be our next issue of The Perspective, Pinnacle’s comprehensive publication filled with the latest Pinnacle updates and industry news.  In that issue will be a focus towards the challenges and opportunities with tobacco inventories, and ways Pinnacle clients have adapted to tight profit margins in this category to maintain and improve the bottom line.

If your company hasn’t registered for Pinnacle Summit 2016 yet, be sure to follow the links within.  Have a great July!

Inside Drew’s Perspective: A Letter from the President

DrewDear Readers,

Welcome to the June edition of Inside Perspective, our monthly client newsletter to keep you in-the-know on industry events, trends, and Pinnacle updates.

This month we turn our focus towards our annual client conference, Pinnacle Summit, now just over 4 months away.  I look forward to our 2016 Master of Ceremonies, Butch Egan from Western Oil, kicking off this year’s event and leading us through a jam-packed two and a half days of education, training, networking, and, a bit of fun.
