Pinnacle Announces the Launch of the New Client Support Portal

ARLINGTON, Texas – May 1, 2014 – The Pinnacle Corporation announced today the activation of a new Client Support Portal. The Pinnacle Corporation has recently completed a review of new software tools for managing Help Desk calls as well as software issues and enhancements. A key feature in deciding on the right tool was to provide ‘self-service’ access to our clients.

This portal enables clients to monitor the status of Help Desk calls, as well as provides another method for clients to submit support requests.

“Providing ‘self-service’ access to Help Desk calls gives our clients another method to keep up-to-date with support requests they’ve submitted,” said Mary Clements, Director of Client Support at Pinnacle. “Instead of having to call or email the client support team, our clients can now see the latest updates on their help desk calls directly in the Client Portal.”

Pinnacle Releases New Handheld Lottery Inventory Solution

ARLINGTON, Texas – April 1, 2014 – The Pinnacle Corporation announced today the upcoming release of a new Handheld Lottery Inventory Solution to enable c-store operator efficiencies in the processes of recording and accounting for scratch lottery tickets.

The new Handheld Lottery Inventory Solution extends Pinnacle’s existing Manager Workstation™ back office solution by providing the manager with a means to scan lottery ticket numbers into the daily paperwork instead of manually transcribing and entering the ticket data into their report. This saves time and increases efficiency in the process of reconciling scratch lottery ticket sales and inventory to POS sales data., The new Handheld Lottery Inventory Solution will leverage the same handheld hardware device already provided by Pinnacle for store level merchandise inventory audits, vendor invoice receiving, and price verification functions.

“An extension of our existing Handheld Solutions, our upcoming release of the Handheld Lottery Inventory module is a natural extension for the lottery inventory and reconciliation processes our back office and scanning products have supported for more than two decades,” said Melissa Hadley, Director of product management at Pinnacle. “Instead of manually having to write down then re-enter ending lottery ticket numbers into the back office as part of their daily paperwork, store managers will be able to quickly and easily capture this data with the same handheld device they already use for other functions with a simple scan. It’s all about efficiencies to continually reduce the time managers spend in front of the computer.

Pinnacle Palm POS™ Enhances Support for CFN Fleet Cards

ARLINGTON, Texas – January 14, 2014 – The Pinnacle Corporation announced today that Palm POS now supports a direct interface to the CFN payment network.  The new CFN Network Interface Module (NIM) enables Palm POS to more efficiently accept a variety of popular fleet cards for payment including Mannatec, Fuelman and Fleetwide cards,  both in the store and outside at the pump.  Pinnacle developed the new interface based on CFN’s latest v4.2 host interface specification which uses standard ISO 8583 commonly used in the payment industry.  The new NIM supports typical fleet card prompting and eliminates the legacy counter hardware at the store.

“We continually seek out new and enhanced payment alternatives for our retailers,” says Denise Lewis, Pinnacle POS Product Manager.  “Working with CFN to support a direct interface for these fleet cards was a great opportunity to offer more payment options.  We are especially pleased to introduce a software-based NIM solution rather than the legacy hardware-based interface commonly used for Mannatec cards.  Anytime we can integrate to the POS and remove hardware from the store we feel like retailers will see immediate value.”

The new CFN NIM has been certified and is now available from Pinnacle.

Pinnacle Launches Palm™ POS Mobile Payments

ARLINGTON, Texas (April 29, 2013) – The Pinnacle Corporation (Pinnacle) and National Payment Card Association (NPCA) announced today the launch of a new mobile payments solution for convenience petroleum retailers using Pinnacle’s Palm POS™.

The new mobile payments solution provides retailers with a mobile app customized with their branding, that offers consumers a method of tendering fuel or merchandise purchases without having to use a payment card and employs a simple authorization code strategy. The solution extends a 6 year partnership between Pinnacle and NPCA that provides retailers with a consumer based ACH payment option to battle the significant costs of traditional card processing fees, allowing retailers to pass those savings on to the consumer and still add more dollars to the retailer’s bottom line.

The mobile solution technology requires no cardholder data to be passed across the network, which makes the solution very secure and out of scope for PCI or data security best practices. The solution requires no changes to retailers’ existing network infrastructure. NPCA offers retailers iOS and Android versions of the mobile application to capture the majority of consumer devices.

“We look forward to continuing to add value to our existing GoBlue ACH payment program, by deploying a mobile payment solution that is more  convenient and secure than traditional payment options,” says Jeannie Amerson, Advertising & Loyalty Manager of Flash Foods. “Our goal here at Flash Foods is to continue to improve the shopping and payment experience for our customers. Mobile payments are the first step in promoting our new Flash Foods app. In addition to payment solutions, the app will allow us the opportunity to incentivize our customers to use their smartphones with customized rewards utilizing our Rewards in a Flash loyalty program.”

“We are very excited about the launch of our mobile payments strategy, leveraging our existing and successful partnership with NPCA of many years and their portfolio of intellectual property,”  says Drew Mize, Pinnacle COO.  “By providing a solution that’s out of scope for PCI, is based on the foundation of standards that is being evaluated by PCATS, and designed to support both outside and inside payments this solution has potential for rapid deployment by any retailer using Palm POS. “
